By the title of this article, you are probably thinking about a minister, pastor, evangelist or missionary.  Tradition tells us that only those working in full-time   "Christian"  work have a holy calling.  However, God does not distinguish between those who serve in the church and those who serve in the marketplace.

Are you a teacher, waitress, nurse, babysitter, or hairdresser, or banker?  If you are following God's will for your life, your call is just as holy as a pastor's.  God needs Christians in the marketplace as much as he needs pastors behind pulpits.

People who exemplify the Gospel by the way they perform their jobs, and walk out their faith in the marketplace, have the ability to reach people who may never enter a church building.  2 Timothy 1:9 says, "He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not because of our own works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time eternal."

Let's make a conscious effort to appreciate the people chosen to perform the jobs that make our lives so comfortable, as we remember that all holy callings are from God.
